Down South 01:41
I die a little bit more inside With each take of your song about another guy You say the song could be about me But what the hell is that supposed to mean? You took the air out of my lungs You took the words right out my mouth I guess we’ll have to keep it cool If things shift and go down south I guess we should have left it where it was Cause’ now you’re the only one that I’m thinking of And you say you sometimes think of me But what the hell is that supposed to mean? You took the air out of my lungs You took the words right out my mouth I guess we’ll have to keep it cool If things shift and go down south

I’m more into you Then you’re into me So I’ll play it cool and I’ll just let it be Let’s let things play out I say, “yeah that’s fine” I was never all that good at telling lies So come on and break my heart in two Could be the best thing you could do Come on and break my heart in two Could be the best thing you could do I know how This all ends But luckily I can’t always trust my intuition I don’t wanna wait And bide my time Cause I was never good at letting these things lie So just come on and break my heart in two Could be the best thing you could do Come on and break my heart in two Could be the best thing you could do

I think it's time we put this record on the shelf I think it's time we start listening to something else Cause your voice in my head is getting way too god damn loud And I can’t hear any other sounds If I thought I could change your mind Then I would spend my whole life trying But I know it won’t change So I know I can’t stay If we could sort it out and make everything right Then I would keep hanging with you tonight But I know it won’t change So I know I can’t stay I wish that I could put that great gramp record on But I’d just think of you belting out those emo songs And the night that we swore we’d be nothing more than friends But we were three beers deep and we all know how that ends If I thought I could change your mind Then I would spend my whole life trying But I know it won’t change So I know I can’t stay If we could sort it out and make everything right Then I would keep hanging with you tonight But I know it won’t change So I know I can’t stay

Your officinal nature Rendered me dependent Defenseless and inept from leaving you No I don’t know what the hell to do My fear of changes And need to complicate things To add some smoke and mirrors to the truth If I give in an inch then I will lose Oh you got me in your hands Tightening your grip Never letting go Woah you got me in your hands Tightening your grip Never letting go Won’t you let your guard down how do you Carry all the weight on your back? Oh you got me in your hands Tightening your grip Never letting go Woah you got me in your hands Tightening your grip Never letting go

Skater Vidz 03:18
I’ve been thinking about you all the time But I’ve trying to rid you from my mind Trying to pretend that you don’t exist A target that I’m probably going to miss But all I really want to do Is watch some skating videos with you All I really want to do Is watch them with you Driving with no headlights in the dark Probably should have kept the car in park Now you’re pretending that I don’t exist A little taste of my own medicine But all I really want to do Is watch some skating videos with you All I really want to do Is watch them with you All I really want to do Is watch some skating videos with you All I really want to do Is watch them with you

about

RAD-072:

Cal Rifkin is a power pop group from the Nation’s Capital consisting of Erik Grimm (Guitar/Vocals), Keith Butler Jr. (Drums), and Robin Rhodes (Bass). The band formed in the Fall of 2018 and was solidified by the members’ shared love for greasy Ledo’s pizza, early 90’s baseball aesthetics, and rock ‘n’ roll music.

Chock full of jangly guitars, big riffs, and gorgeous Beach Boys-esque harmonies layered over sugary hooks, Cal Rifkin's latest EP, Better Luck Next Year effortlessly captures the essence of ‘70s power pop. The lyrics strike a delicate balance between self-aware and heartachingly sincere, and the delivery is intimate and earnest without taking itself too seriously. Grimm’s uncomplicated melodies and driving lead guitar complement the groove of the rhythm section in a way that sticks in your head for days.
